The election's over, right? I long for the days when Sarah Palin was absent from the headlines and I anxiously await her becoming ancient history. Anyways, I know this is a few days after the fact, and as far as I'm concerned Sarah Palin has dropped off the face of the earth--she's completely irrelevant--but the zingers just keep on coming. On Thursday, Palin said this:
"We believe that the best of America is not all in Washington, D.C...We believe, we believe that the best of America is in these small towns that we get to visit, and in these wonderful little pockets of what I call the real America, being here with all of you hard-working, very patriotic, pro-America areas of this great nation. This is where we find the kindness and the goodness and the courage of everyday Americans: those who are running our factories and teaching our kids and growing our food and are fighting our wars for us, those who are protecting us in uniform, those who are protecting the virtues of freedom.”
Joe Biden responded perfectly: "It's time to put this behind us. Folks, it is not a corny thing. It's real. We are one nation, under God, indivisible. We are all patriotic. We all love our country in every part of this country. And I'm tired. I am tired, tired, tired, tired of the implications about patriotism.”
Jon Stewart responded another way, but I try to keep obscenities to a minimum. Use your imagination, or read here.
I go for a toned-down version of Jon's response, but either way, 8+ years of the Republican party questioning absolutely everyone's patriotism but their own will finally come to an end. Or at least it will be muted by an Obama white house, the increased democratic majority in the Senate, and an ever-growing dem majority in the House. I can't wait to go to bed on November 4th celebrating "President Obama." That reminds me, I'll be having an election night party. Stop by.
Also, when I read that Obama raised $150 million, 1 word came to mind: immoral. Politics and money, don't get me started. I'm so glad he has the resources to DOMINATE and work in states most democrats just leave alone because its usually a lost cause and they can't afford it, but Republicans and Independents are voting Obama and he can run ads, hire staff, and get out the vote there, and none of this on public financing. That is all fantastic. But $150 million in one month for one candidate in one presidential campaign? Remember that big bailout? Can we throw that money at the economy or something? Poverty? Healthcare? Education? Good thing President Obama will work to improve all of that. GOBAMA.

I wish I could come to your election night party. I might've even brought circus animal cookies...
