John Ensign, shame on you. This surprised me a bit, but not much. Isn't an affair a requirement for elected Nevada Republicans? He joins quite the club with Jon Porter and Jim Gibbons. [cough SCUMBAGS cough]
This is the same guy who called Clinton an embarrassment and Larry Craig a disgrace. He is also all about the sanctity of marriage, having voted for the Federal Marriage Amendment.
How will Nevada Republicans react to this? I don't see calls for his resignation flooding in. He'll most likely run again and be reelected. But you can bet a million dollars if this was a democrat, the republicans would be out for his head calling for his resignation.

I get almost perversely excited about Republican sex scandals. I think it just validates that they aren't any better than the Democrats, that they aren't the party of God and that they aren't any more righteous than those "godless" liberals. They don't have a monopoly on "middle American values" or decency.
I think the best part of Republican sex scandals is the inherit hypocrisy involved, and Ensign was probably the biggest "morality" blowhard of them all.
Really don't get it!!!! It really is funny that these guys are supposed to be representing the "conservative" Republican party yet are totally living double lives! So ANNOYING!!!! Why can't there be normal, selfless human beings in Washington? Even when I met him, I never really did like Ensign!
