Giardino di Boboli (Boboli Gardens)

I wanted to see something yesterday after class, but I'm burnt out on museums and churches for a few days, so I went across the river to the Boboli Gardens. It costs 10 euro , which I really didn't want to pay just to walk around a garden, but it was totally worth it. The gardens were built for the Medici family when they moved into a new palace. They are ginormous, and a total maze, so I just wandered around for what ended up being 3 hours. I guess I really am my father's daughter--no one else would want to look at plants for that long. I won't bore you with how beautiful I think it is, but seriously, Garden of Eden style.

This is one side of the main entrance amphitheater, where the first-ever opera was held.

The whole place looks like this. Maybe I liked it so much I just sat on a bench and pulled out a book. And maybe it was Pride and Prejudice. Basically a perfect afternoon.
Gorgeous rose gardens.
It was really overcast, so you can't get the full effect, but from the top you can see the hills all around. My hair no like the humidity. Not a bad view, eh?

Kendal,
I am so happy you are there! It looks amazing! The gardens are beautiful. I have always wanted to go to the gardens at Versailes. It looks like this garden may be comparable in size and just gorgeous! You crack me up about the Leaning Tower. Good to know, but I still think that I would like to see it one day. I don't think I would mind being one of those silly looking tourist that is so persistent on getting the classic pose just right. Jess's wedding was amazing! She was gorgeous and Beau and her could not be more perfect for one another! Miss you!

Linda
