Games of the 29th Olympiad
Maren has been just about demanding that I blog more, so this is mainly to appease her. School is back in and somehow this semester promises to be just as busy, if not more, than last year, but she won't accept that as an excuse. So I guess I’m going to jump on the bandwagon and do the obligatory Olympics post. Who doesn't love Olymicmania! We get some quality time with Bob Costas. You can watch tv for a good 4 hours and not feel guilty about it because, come on, its the olympics. And more inspiration to get in better shape than I can handle. Put on a women's beach volleyball game, get me on a treadmill, and suddenly I can run miles and miles and miles. Watching Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh bounce around with almost no body fat is all the motivation I need. The staying up til 12:30 or 1am to watch that last balance beam routine has been a bit much though , and for that I'm glad to see them end.First off, the Redeem Team!!! I was up way too late last night watching this game. A few thoughts. Dwayne Wade. I missed him so much last season, and while he’s not 100%, he did score 27 points in the game and its good to have him back. Lebron. Like we needed a reminder of how amazing he is. My love for Lebron goes back to his first season with the Cavs, when Faroe and I had a poster of him on our wall in King Henry. Also, Kobe is way less annoying than he was about 2 years ago. Are you with me on this one? It actually warmed my heart a little to watch him sing the national anthem with a huge grin on his face during the medal ceremony.
Olympic crushes. You all have one. My friend Gary has a mad crush on Shawn Johnson, age difference aside. I think a few are noteworthy. The ladies love Michael Phelps and I’m on board with that—just look at that body—but my heart goes to Ryan Lochte. Maren thinks he looks like a punk, but I think she’d like him if she got to know him. Also, a Canadian diver caught my eye the other night as well. And while he's not exactly hot, I couldn't get enough of Phil Dalhausser, aka the thin beast.
Also, while I totally love Shawn Johnson, if I may suggest a comparison:
I guess that's it. Back to normal life, sans olympians. I hope everyone's as excited as I am about ObamaBiden2008, but I know you're not. I get laughed at a lot about how giddy and worked up I can get over this election, so I try to only talk about it when my opinion is solicited. But since I have a blog I can talk about it all I want, and I probably will. Presidential election year is kind of like Christmas in August, September, October, and November.

Good blog. Just surfing.
You're hilarious. You are one of those writers that I could just keep on reading forever. Some people (like me for instance) just don't know how to write, but yours just flows so nicely. lol. It may sound weird but I'm being serious. I too love the Olympics.
Best. Post. Yet.
Thank you for appeasing my demands! I am going to use a couple of your lines for my Olympic Memorial that will be posted in the next few days.
Love the Shawn Johnson comparison. Love.
It's these posts that are the reason why I demand more. Keep 'em coming Kangaroo.
That is so funny I said the same thing about Shawn Johnson looking like Fifel. I don't know about the Kobe though, he still does those stupid, finger to the lips shh's to the crowd.
A few things: Obviously, I found your blog and now I will stalk you. Thank you for pinpointing the Shawn/Fievel connection--I knew she looked like somebody but I couldn't put my finger on it. Also, I happened upon The OC on the Soap Channel the other day and did a little dance of joy. I'm glad to know there are still some fans out there besides me :)
Kendal, I need help finding cute templates like yours, I tried to do one I found on google and I about died it was so complicated and then it didn't even work. Where do you go?
WOW loved the Shawn Johnson comparison to Fievel. I laughed out loud. AWESOME! She is also 4'9" so they are about the same size too. Well now that we have a blog you will have to add it to your friend list. I am sad you didn't come up for the reunion but now I can keep up with through your blog.
Hey Kendal! How are you? I love that comparison! haha! Robert thinks that she looks like the Wendy's girl, but I think that is a better comparison! I hope things are good!
Kendal are you back home yet? Anyways I love this post. I am so glad the Olympics are over just because now I can focus on all of the house work I neglected and actually fall asleep at a decent hour.
Happy Birthday!!! Olympics were awesome. The Olympics as a whole were a little tainted for me on any subjective events (i.e., gymnastics and diving) because it seemed like China was getting favored. Anything with a finish line was awesome, i.e., Michael Phelps, Usain Bolt. Also, how does a Chinese gymnast who is "16" recently lose a baby tooth? I lost my last one at 11.
Kendal...don't show Linda this post, a lot of people have been telling her she looks like Shawn Johnson.
