Go Blue/Ms. October

Dodgers are going to the post-season and BYU is ranked #8 in the AP poll. Holler. I'm glad I have them to cheer for because the Rebels are awful. After an impressive first quarter against UNR last night, they were back to being the old Rebels we know and don't love. It was painful to watch. I think 3 wins this season, 2 in overtime, might just have been a fluke.

On another happy note, October is almost here, which means a lot of great things!!!

1. Halloween decorations. Usually I put them up on the 1st, but since we're moving this week, I'll have to wait until the 6th or so. May not seem like a big deal to you, but I've been planning for halloween for weeks. I should also include halloween dessert night, watching the nightmare before christmas and it's the great pumpkin charlie brown, carving pumpkins, coming up with a costume, haunted houses... [Stay tuned for the brilliance that will be our murder mystery dinner. I'm taking halloween up a notch this year.]

2. Post-season baseball. This is where it gets good. Then on to the World Series.

3. Baking with pumpkin. If anyone in Vegas has a hankering for some pumpkin treats, just let me know and I will bake for you since I definitely don't need it for myself. Pumpkin chocolate-chip cookies, pumpkin spice muffins, pumpkin waffles. Oh the goodness. Also, using halloween-colored m&ms in treats puts a smile on my face.

Other great things about October: general conference, the Boulder City Art Fair (a yearly tradition in our family), busting out sweaters/fall colors//all my great close-toed high heels I save for fall (even though it was like 104 degrees on Friday), and the downhill slide towards election day. Now if only school weren't in the way.

Oh, how I love this time of year! I love fall decorations and I love dressing in long sleeve shirts and sweaters. Hey Kendal, my hubby and I like to check out and read your political posts. We would totally be interested in reading your political case for Obama if you care to post it. Anyways, Tina Fey does such a wonderful interpretation of Sarah Palin doesn't she? I can't wait for this Thursday's debate!
