Viareggio

On Sunday a few of us girls headed out to the beach. Risky move, since it's rained every single day for the past week, but oh well. Once we got to the beach, we found out they were all private beaches, so we paid a few euro each to go sit under an umbrella (ella, ella) and soak up some sun. The water was pretty cold, but it was still fun. After about 1 1/2 hours of bright sun, it started pouring rain, so we grabbed some lunch and headed back to Florence.

Fun fact: Italian men don't believe in swim trunks. All speedos, baby. My friend kept trying to get me to take a picture of this old guy in his speedo, but I couldn't bring myself to do it.

Me and Jeana.

So I had really great intentions of going to church in Florence, but we've been traveling on the weekends. I decided yesterday would be perfect, but I couldn't find the street on my map. I spent a good 30 minutes on Saturday looking at my map, but it was nowhere to be found. That's when I decided to go to the beach. On my way home from the train station, in the rain, I hear singing and thought it was wierd until I came around the corner and ta da! Missionaries just singing away. I had to laugh, plus how cliche of a thing for missionaries to be standing on the corner with their hymn books. I asked one sister where the freak the church was (i asked nicer than that) and turns out it is just a little dot on the map and I never would have found it.

And that missionary dude on the left--what, he's too cool to sing with the others?
